Disney World Park Hours

Since Disney World is one of the most visited vacation destinations in the world the park hours are set to be as accommodating as possible. Opening and closing hours vary depending on the month and time of year it is. There are also the Disney World Magic Hours where at certain times the park opens earlier than normal and/or stays open later than normal.

Magic Kingdom generally opens at 9AM unless Magic Hours are in effect. On Magic Hours days the park opens at 8AM instead. In general, Magic Kingdom closes at midnight. Since the Epcot Center is divided into two sections (Future World and World Showcase) the hours of operation differ slightly. While Future World is open from 9AM to 9PM, World Showcase is open 11AM to 9PM.

Hollywood Studios is generally open from 8AM to 11PM. Magic Hours do not apply to this particular park, so the hours remain the same most of the time. Animal Kingdom is generally open from 8AM to 9PM unless Magic Hours are in effect, in which case it opens at 7AM. The Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and the Blizzard Beach Water Park are both open from 9AM to 7PM and Magic Hours do not apply to these parks either.

The Downtown Disney area is divided into different parts, each of which has their own hours of operation. While the general area of Downtown Disney is always open from 8:30 AM to 2AM other parts of it close earlier and open later. The Marketplace opens at 10AM and closes at 11:30PM while the West Side of Downtown Disney is open from 10:30AM to midnight and Pleasure Island is open from 11AM to 1:30AM.

Disneyworld’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is always open from 6AM to midnight and Magic Hours do not apply to any part of Downtown Disney, as it is not one of the four parks that make up the resort.

About Magic Hours

In order to take advantage of Magic Hours you must be a registered guest at one of the hotels on the grounds of the Disney World resort. It also helps to purchase Park Hopper tickets if you want to take advantage of the Magic Hours. If you only purchase tickets for say, the Magic Kingdom that park’s Magic Hours apply to you but Animal Kingdom’s Magic Hours will not. This is fine if you only want to spend that extra time in one of the resort’s parks but if you want to take full advantage of your Disney World experience purchasing Park Hopper tickets lets you take advantage of the Magic Hours at all four parks.

The park hours are designed to help you maximize your vacation time. If you do intend to visit all four parks you are best off if you start your day off in the park that opens the earliest. This makes it possible to visit each of the four parks in one day without having to rush between parks to do so.
