Transportation To The Disney Parks

Visiting a Disney park can be the most enthralling experience of your life. However, getting there from your hotel is something different all together. Parking at Disney World will cost you quite a chunk of change, so you may want to consider other transportation options to get you from your hotel to the parks that comprise the Disney World resort.

If you are staying on the grounds of Disney World transportation to the parks will be much easier for you. There is an extensive bus schedule that will help you get to your favorite parks quickly. Bus stops include the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach Water Park, Downtown Disney and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The busses within the resort run every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes depending on the day. Busses begin their routes one hour before the park is scheduled to open. Return bus trips are done until every guest has been transported to their hotel within the resort.

For a more exciting and unusual way to get to the parks from your Disney World resort you can take a boat to and from the Magic Kingdom. This applies to you only if you stay in the Grand Floridian, Polynesian Resort, Fort Wilderness Resort or the Wilderness Lodge. There are ferry boats available that transport you from between the Magic Kingdom and the park’s Transportation/Ticket Center. If you want to go to either Disney Hollywood Studios or Epcot you can take a boat there if you are staying at the Boardwalk Inn and Villas Resort, Beach Club Resort or the Swan or Dolphin Hotel.

You have probably seen the famous Disney World Monorail on commercials over the years, or if you have been to Disneyworld in the past. The Monorail travels on three separate tracks to help move guests in between the parks. The first of the three tracks have the Monorail stopping at Magic Kingdom as well as Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian and the Polynesian Resort.

If you need help traveling from Orlando’s airport to the Disney resort you have the option of using the SuperShuttle. For a low-cost you will get transportation from the airport directly to your hotel on the grounds of the Disney World resort. Be aware that if you want to take the SuperShuttle to your hotel when you do arrive you must schedule your shuttle in advance.

If the hotel you are staying in is not on the grounds of the Disney World resort you can use the Mears Shuttle to get around. There is a flat fee for traveling from the Orlando airport to hotels near the Disneyworld complex. This is not a shuttle you can schedule in advance so be prepared to have to wait for it.

Using these transportation options will make your vacation in Disney World much more affordable and efficient. You will appreciate not having to drive yourself back to your hotel after a long day in the park.
